Sending money to a bank account

Pay any Nigerian bank or wallet, what the statuses mean, and when money is returned.

How to send

  1. 1Open Bank transfer.
  2. 2Pick the bank or wallet from the list — it covers every Nigerian bank and fintech and refreshes twice a day.
  3. 3Type the 10-digit account number. The account name is confirmed for you.
  4. 4Enter the amount, then approve with your PIN and the code we send you.

What the statuses mean

  • Paid — our partner has settled it and the receiving bank has the money.
  • Pending — our partner has accepted it but the receiving bank has not confirmed yet. Use "Check with Platnova" for the latest.
  • Not sent — it did not go through. Your money is returned to your wallet with a Reversal line in your activity.

You are never debited without a real payout. If the partner rejects or cancels a transfer, Rainpay puts the money back automatically and emails you.

It has been pending for hours

Tap Check with Platnova on that transfer. If it comes back cancelled or failed, your money is returned right away. If it stays pending past a working day, mail support@rainpay.ng with the reference shown.

I sent to the wrong account number

Contact support@rainpay.ng immediately with the reference. Once a bank has credited the receiver, the money can only come back if that person or their bank agrees to return it — so always check the name first.

Rainpay is a financial technology company and is not a bank. Banking, payment and deposit services are provided by licensed financial institutions and licensed payment service providers regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria, currently Beamer Microfinance Bank, Platnova and Red Biller Technologies.
